Clayton Valley Lithium Project

Project map

The Clayton Valley Lithium Project (Clayton Valley) is located in Nevada, USA, and is in close proximity to the Albemarle owned Silver Peak lithium mine and ~3.5 hours from Tesla’s Gigafactory Number 1, a large lithium-ion battery factory. The Project is also located only 10km east of ASX-listed Ioneer Ltd’s (ASX:INR) flagship Rhyolite Ridge Lithium-Boron Project, which is joint ventured with Sibanye Stillwater Limited.

The Clayton Valley Project area covers ~12 km2 of claims endowed with both lithium-rich brines and clays. To date, the Company’s North American geological consultants Kangari Consulting LLC have completed an extensive review of the Project and surrounding area that has been subject to significant historical exploration.

Results from initial drilling confirmed the presence of lithium brine and a lithium hosting horizon on the Western side of the property, and found that the basin extends further east than previously considered (refer to the Company’s announcement to ASX on 26 November 2017 for further information).

Importantly, historical drilling completed by Marquee has confirmed the potential for economic lithium mineralisation on its claims at Clayton Valley.
