Clayton Valley Lithium Project
Marquee’s Clayton Valley Lithium Project is a 100%-owned Nevada lithium brine and clay project near the Silver Peak lithium mine and major regional lithium assets.
Key project facts
-
100%-owned Nevada lithium project.
-
Approximately 12km2 of claims in the southern Clayton Valley Basin.
-
Prospective for lithium-rich brines and clays.
-
Located near the Silver Peak lithium mine and approximately 10km east of Ioneer’s Rhyolite Ridge lithium-boron project.
-
Approximately 60km south of Marquee’s Kibby Basin Lithium Project.
-
Earlier drilling and technical review confirmed lithium brine and lithium-hosting horizons on the western side of the property.
The Clayton Valley Lithium Project is Marquee’s 100%-owned Nevada lithium project located in the southern portion of the Clayton Valley Basin, USA. The project is prospective for lithium-rich brines and clays and sits in a recognised US lithium district that hosts the Silver Peak lithium mine.
The Clayton Valley Project covers approximately 12km2 of claims in a region endowed with lithium-rich clays and brines. The project is situated in the southern portion of the Clayton Valley Basin, proximal to the Silver Peak lithium mine, which is currently the only producing lithium mine in North America and is owned by Albemarle.
Clayton Valley is located approximately 60km south of Marquee’s Kibby Basin Lithium Project and approximately 10km east of Ioneer Ltd’s Rhyolite Ridge lithium-boron project, which has been joint ventured with Sibanye Stillwater Ltd. The project is also approximately 3.5 hours from Tesla’s Gigafactory Number 1, providing useful regional context for the US domestic lithium supply chain.
Marquee received drilling permits for the Clayton Valley Lithium Project in June 2017 and completed earlier drilling and technical work that confirmed the presence of lithium brine and lithium-hosting horizons on the western side of the property. Subsequent review work identified the potential for the basin and lithium-bearing systems to extend further east than previously considered.
The Clayton Valley page focuses on Clayton Valley-specific facts: ownership, area, location, lithium brine and clay potential, historical drilling context, gravity/geological review and regional setting. Kibby Basin is cross-linked separately as Marquee’s other Nevada lithium project.
