West Spargoville Lithium-Gold-Nickel Project

West Spargoville is a Southern Yilgarn lithium, gold and nickel project held in joint venture with Mineral Resources Limited over the lithium rights. (ASX:MIN JV 25%)

Key project facts

  • Southern Yilgarn, Western Australia.

  • Approximately 80km2 of prospective tenure.

  • Lithium rights subject to a farm-in agreement with Mineral Resources Limited.

  • Exploration dataset includes mapping, rock chips, DGPR, auger, AC, RC, aeromagnetics, ground gravity and 3D inversion modelling.

  • Lithium focus is centred on LCT pegmatite systems.

  • Gold and nickel potential remains relevant and is included in the project positioning.

The West Spargoville Project is located in the Southern Yilgarn region of Western Australia and is presented as a lithium, gold and nickel project. The project lies within a highly prospective mineral province that hosts established and emerging lithium, gold and nickel assets.

Marquee acquired West Spargoville in 2020, with the project initially explored for gold mineralisation. Following the intersection of multiple pegmatites in gold-targeted drilling and an internal review of lithium potential, Marquee shifted exploration focus toward LCT pegmatite systems while retaining the broader gold and nickel context of the project.

West Spargoville comprises approximately 80km2 of prospective tenure in the core of the Southern Yilgarn Lithium Belt, a region known for spodumene deposits including Bald Hill, Mt Marion, Buldania and Pioneer Dome. The project is also positioned within the Widgiemooltha Greenstone Belt in the broader Kambalda district, a region with a long history of gold and nickel exploration and mining.

Marquee has entered into a farm-in agreement with Mineral Resources Limited over the lithium rights only at West Spargoville. Under the current project narrative, Mineral Resources provides a strong technical and operational partner for the lithium component of the project, while Marquee continues to evaluate the broader commodity potential of the tenure.

Exploration programs completed at West Spargoville include surface mapping and rock-chip sampling, Deep Ground Penetrating Radar, 3,124 auger holes with full-suite multi-element analysis, 351 aircore holes for 24,311m, 159 RC holes for 22,857m, detailed aeromagnetics covering 2,325 line-km, detailed ground gravity covering 5,308 stations and 3D inversion modelling.

These work programs have materially improved Marquee’s understanding of LCT pegmatite systems at West Spargoville and supported the development of a mineralisation model with similarities to the Kathleen Valley-style exploration model. Marquee geologists are also re-evaluating the existing dataset to delineate new prospective gold targets at the project, having regard to corporate activity and exploration outcomes in the surrounding district.

State clearly that the Mineral Resources Limited farm-in applies to lithium rights only. Do not describe West Spargoville as a lithium-only project. Do not imply a Mineral Resource unless and until one has been announced for the relevant commodity.
